In 2022, Cornerstone University identified a critical need: over one million Michiganders had started—but never completed—a college degree including many who had even attempted other non-traditional adult-learner focused programs. This insight sparked the creation of SOAR™, a transformative initiative designed to remove barriers for students to higher education.
What is SOAR™?
SOAR™ by Cornerstone University is the nation’s first accredited, 100% mobile, self-paced, and most affordable bachelor’s degree in business. Designed to meet the needs of today’s learners, SOAR™ removes financial barriers, expands access, and aligns with employer demands. Through mobile microlearning, students acquire real-world skills that they can apply immediately, transforming the way education is delivered and experienced.

Which Type of Partner are You?
SOAR Business Partner
A Business Partner is an organization committed to developing its workforce and building a thriving, growth-oriented culture.
- Business Partner employees (and their immediate family members) receive up to a $1,950 annual scholarship, in addition to Federal or State aid.
SOAR Member Partner
A Member Partner is an organization with a membership-based structure (i.e., chamber of commerce, credit union, gym) that serves both its members and employs staff.
- Organization members (and their immediate family members) receive a 10% tuition scholarship on SOAR, traditional CU undergraduate programs, and CU online programs.
- Organization employees (and immediate family members) receive up to a $1,950 annual scholarship, in addition to Federal or State aid.

How much will this partnership program cost my company?
Becoming a SOAR Partner is free.
Is there any administration oversight?
We provide all the administrative work and provide you with all the necessary information for your employees.
Are we required to provide tuition assistance?
No. In fact, you can use our scholarship as your tuition assistance program
Is SOAR just for my members or employees?
No, SOAR benefits are extended to your immediate family including a brother, sister, father, legal guardian, mother, child, spouse, step-father, and step-mother.
Can the SOAR Partner Development team come to my workplace to conduct a SOAR manager/employee presentation?
Yes, we are happy to come to you to lead a “lunch and learn” presentation.
What type of courses do you offer?
Can students start with no credits at all?
Yes! Students of all levels are accepted. You can be a freshman with zero credits or a transfer student, with up to 90 transferable credits in eligible coursework.
Do they have to start at a specific time?
No. Unlike traditional school schedules, SOAR accepts students year-round.
Are there any other majors offered via SOAR?
We have several more offerings planned for the future. Our current offering is a Bachelor of Science degree in Strategic Business Management.
